We homeschool because we believe "There are two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One is roots; the other, wings." (Hodding Carter, Jr.) In order to help our children establish roots and spread their wings, we believe in...strength in family relationships...an intimate relationship with God...being socially active...networking within the community to make our town a better place...excellence in academics and life skills...and that we are never too old to yearn for knowledge.

Playing Games Can Be Educational!
Playing the "old fashioned" games are a great way to reinforce many concepts. Such as...
Before starting to play a few games of Dominoes, Kenna sorted them by character (These are Disney Princess Dominoes). Then, strengthening motor skills, they flipped all the dominoes upside-down, mixed them up, and each drew 7 to play with.
Maddy and Kenna sat for over an hour playing Dominoes. Played by themselves. Followed the rules. No one cheated. No fighting. And no one got mad when they didn't win a game. Don't you just love it when you see your children's maturity level growing?
Twister Moves teaches colors, left from right, memorization, and coordination as they "dance" to the instructions given on the CD. Great exercise, too, disguised as fun!
